Confirming quality furnace installations
The heating system weatherization manual contains the specifications for the quality installation of a new heating system. Completion of the installation checklist supports quality assurance process ensuring key testing has been completed and documented. The quality assurance inspector completes a visual inspection of the system in addition to reviewing the installer’s documentation and testing results. By understanding how to use these checklists and the test results, inspectors can identify potential issues with the installation set-up that may affect the efficiency and operation of the heating system.

Getting the most out of your manometer
In building science, a lot of what we measure is invisible and much of it is related to pressure and flow. Most of us do blower door or duct leakage testing or both, but there are many other important things we can be measuring using our manometers that can help us figure out what is going on in a home. This session will give you an introduction into measuring draft, CAZ depressurization, room pressures, zone pressure diagnostics, pressure pans, static pressures on an air handler and tools for long term data logging of pressures.
